And He (Jesus) said to them, To you has been entrusted the mystery of the kingdom of God [that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly]; but for those outside [of our circle] everything becomes a parable, in order that they may [indeed] look and look but not see and perceive, and may hear and hear but not grasp and comprehend, lest haply they should turn again, and it [their willful rejection of the truth] should be forgiven them. – Mark 4:11-12 (AMPC)
A French Jesuit priest and philosopher called Pierre Teihard de Chardin (May 1st 1881 – April 10th 1955) has been credited with the quote that
We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
This saying is the exact opposite of what is known in our corporal world that human beings seek spiritual experiences and not vice versa. Even though a vast majority of people in the world, by their actions, express a deep belief in a spiritual realm, little or not much exploration has been made in fully understanding and experiencing the rich resources of that realm.
Heaven on Earth
About 2000 years ago, the everlasting, indissoluble and indestructible Kingdom of God was established on the earth by the King of kings, Jesus Christ. This Kingdom has been ordained to operate on earth with all the resources and magnificence of heaven as evidenced by the Lord’s exhortation in Luke 11:2 that, “When you pray, say: our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
The intent of God was not to establish an inferior kind of heaven on earth; rather, He made His thoughts clearly known to those who would become citizens of the Kingdom that He is available for partnership to have His will done on earth as it is in heaven. In heaven, there is no sin, sickness, sorrow, poverty, pain, distress, envy and other calamities known in the world; and when the Lord said that our communication with the Father should be, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” He meant every word of it. We can and should experience heaven on earth! After all, it is One Kingdom under God, indivisible and indestructible, with liberty, justice, righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit for all its citizens. Unfortunately, after over two millennia, children of God are still operating as human beings having a spiritual experience rather than spiritual beings having a human experience with little or no manifestation of the glory of heaven in their lives.
The Kingdom is spiritual
Yes, the Kingdom of God has already come and is making extraordinary impact in the lives of people and areas on the earth. Its exact location and boundaries on the earth are not well-defined because it is currently a spiritual kingdom. The fact that the Kingdom is spiritual or invisible does not mean that it does not exist. Actually, Hebrews 11:3 states that “By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” The spiritual actually controls events in the natural realm as was made known to King Nebuchadnezzar that “Heaven rules” in the affairs of men on the earth in Daniel 4:26.
If you as a person and we as a corporate body are going to experience the fullness of heaven on earth, we are exhorted to “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” We know the geographical locations of the United States, Germany, Ghana and Canada, but not the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom however exists in all its glory in the spiritual realm and continues to exert incredible effect upon people and the earth.
You have been entrusted the mystery of the Kingdom of God
The people in the world will never understand the treasure in this Kingdom, but our scripture reading for the day puts you in a peerless category when the Lord said, “To you has been entrusted the mystery of the kingdom of God [that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly]; but for those outside [of our circle] everything becomes a parable, in order that they may [indeed] look and look but not see and perceive, and may hear and hear but not grasp and comprehend, lest haply they should turn again, and it [their willful rejection of the truth] should be forgiven them.”
You have been entrusted the mystery of the Kingdom of God, that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly! Wow, this is deep! May the search begin now through the sweet and constant communion of the Holy Spirit, who searches all things including the deep things of God. “Flow, Oasis of deep mysteries, Flow!”
